Ford Mondeo Wagon gets 1.6-litre TDCi Engine

For Mondeo wagon finally gets a 1.6-litre TDCi engine, it was introduced at Paris Motor Show in 2014

Ford Mondeo wagon or the Fusion in several countries gets new generation tweaks and technologies when it gets into the next generation at Paris Motor Show in 2014. It really looks to represent as a strong rival to Volkswagen Passat B8 wagon. The 2015 Ford Mondeo wagon comes with a new design and the front end looks like the Ford Mustang of same year. New colours have been added with restyled alloys and different bumpers along with several minor treatments.

Ford Mondeo engines

Ford Mondeo uses the four cylinder 1.6-litre engine which is capable of generating around 113bhp from 3600 rpm and it can produce some hefty torque of more than 199lb-ft from only 1750 rpm to 2500 rpm. It has a turbocharged common rail fuel injection system that injects the diesel fuel into the combustion chambers.

Engine performance

Ford Mondeo wagon engine is a good driver when it comes to fuel economy, carbon emissions and other stats. It returns 48 miles per gallon in the city traffic and when it cruises on the motorway, it returns 58 plus miles per gallon. In all this game of numbers, Ford Mondeo wagon engine is an eco-friendly motor that emits 114g/km of carbon. It gets 11.4 seconds to reach the benchmark speed of 62 miles per hour and the top speed of 116 miles per hour.

 Interior tweaks

As soon as you get into the car, a sharply styled dashboard will welcome you with several tweaks and new gadgets. All the buttons being gathered on the central console of the car where an 8-inch touch screen and infotainment system is installed. At the new platform, the Mondeo wagon has an electric power steering and optimised Autonomous Breaking System, stiffer structure and an anti-roll bar and optimised bumpers are exclusively added to the wagon.
