1. Replacing an Air filter

An air filter in your car is very vital engine component that will need to be changed regularly in order to enhance the performance. Air filters are relatively cheap components, although they are actually imperative for your car as they ensure cleaner airflow through your engine which helps your car runs at its best. To change the air filter, open the air filter box and swap the old one with new one. Simple? Yes! it is literally a minute job.

2. Changing a Blocked fuel filter

Fuel filters are one of the cheap replacement parts, however, damaged or clogged fuel filters can lead to massive engine repairs and definitely bills of hundreds of pounds as well. Very common damage due to clogged fuel filters appears in fuel injection system and it is not an easy repair. Simply buy a relevant fuel filter and release fuel pressure from the fuel injection system and change the filter, otherwise you can injure yourself or can damage your car.

3. Radiator Hoses

Radiator hoses have great influence over your car’s engine temperature and pressure in your coolant system. Damaged hoses can damage your engine due to excessive temperature. If you feel that your radiator hoses are damaged then you must replace them as soon as possible. Most vehicles have screwed and clamped pipes so they are very easy to change.

4. Windscreen wiper blades

There’s nothing more irritating when you’re driving than turning on your windscreen wipers, only for them to wipe dust across your view. In order to avoid this episode next time, you must change the blades every year. Although it’s not expensive to replace and almost always cheaper to do it yourself.

5. Changing the battery

Running out a battery pack doesn’t depend on driving, but it runs out by the passage of time and need to be replaced, so if you want to keep away from the jump start irritation every time you want to drive. Simply you need to order the correct battery from the internet and then consult your car manual to fix it, or remove (-) charged terminals first and then (+) terminals and remove the battery from its rack and install new one. Connect the (+) cables first and then (-) cable. Make sure you have all the safety measures to do this repair.

6. Fuse replacement

In the case of your headlight bulbs blown, but even after replacing them as they still don’t work, you need to have a look at a blown fuse. Just read your car manual and follow the instructions to change a blown fuse. You just locate the fuse box, replace required fuse. So, you don’t need to contact a mechanic for these small repairs but bear in mind that even though repairing your car yourself will save you money, but if at any stage you think, it is out of your skill levels then immediately contact a professional before you get rid in any serious problem
