Petrol Engines are impressive in performance

Mazda MX-5 is one of the best roadsters of the day. It is good, stylish and solid in its built. Its appearance is very stylish without straight and sharp creases on the body but a continuity in design and look shows from its exterior. It is perfect to ride. Extraordinary smooth and comfortable while driving due to low centre of gravity and flat tires. Mazda MX-5 is a good roadster in the presence of Audi TT Roadster, BMW Z4 and FIAT 124 Spider.

With just two petrol engines, this stylish Mazda performs extra ordinary

1.5-Litre petrol unit is capable of 129bhp and 111lb/ft torque. It is quick in response and with good speed. It takes 8.0 seconds to reach from 0-62m/h along with the top speed of 127m/h. Mazda MX-5 is a heavy built car with reasonable weight so fuel consumption of this unit is a little bit high. It gives 47m/g and Co2 emissions of this petrol unit are 139g/km. It is fitted with six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The second petrol engine is a 2.0-Litre petrol engine. It is fast and quick in response and takes 7.1 seconds to get from0-62m/h. Top speed is 133m/h fuel consumption is not economical one with just 40m/g of fuel average. Co2 emissions are 161g/km.

Driving and handling is perfect due to rear-wheel drive

Mazda has used rear-wheel drive pattern. In its speedy performance, rear-wheel drive unit is very important. Power distribution through rear-wheel drive shaft is more powerful than front-wheel drive option. Handling is perfect and offers smooth riding experience. Good body weight gives you a balanced thing to drive with fun by pressing the paddle. Both engines are good but 2.0-Litre engine gives and offers some extra power. Its body structure plays important role in its smooth and comfortable driving and handling. The steering wheel is very precise in operation.

Standard features are reasonable and also knitted well

Mazda MX-5 is equipped with standard features such as ABS, CD, Central locking, remote locking, sports bags, side curtains, ISOFIX children seat anchor points, Cruise control, traction control, heated mirrors, electric mirrors and height adjustable driver’s seat. Some features are against money such as air conditioning, parking sensors, heated seats, leather seats and Sat Nav.

Interior and practicality

Mazda MX-5 is a great car from inside. Its exterior and interior show their standard by designing and material respectively. Interior is quite roomy and handy but critics are not pleased with its interior without cubby holes though its interior is spacious. Its short boot and tight opening lid is not as effective as other rivals have. With just 130-litres storage volume it is at the last in its class in which we have Peugeot RCZ at the top and Ford Fiesta ST is at second.

Safety and reliability

It has secured four stars out of five so it is a safe car to drive. Mazda has used its weight to grip the track and used reasonable safety features and equipment to make its roadster a safe car in front of its competent rivals.
