The all new MINI convertible is exclusively built by the German automaker BMW and it is building the MINI models since 2004. Second generation of MINI convertible sold more than 29000 units in the last year and MINI expects that this trend will continue in the coming years too. It has been on sale since last summer with the prices for basic models starting from just over £18,000. It will go after the likes of Fiat 500c, Citroen C3, Citroen DCs Cabrio and Mazda MX5 from Japan. BMW MINI Convertible offers with a line-up consisting three engines. Where a three cylinder turbocharged petrol engine borrowed from the Cooper that produces 134bhp from its 1500cc displacement. This version of the new convertible has captured more than 50 percent of sales. The all new Cooper D at the same time offers 3-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines are slightly less powerful with the power output of around 114bhp. The all new Cooper S sites at the top of the model line-up according to the engine power and it uses the 2.0 litre engine with four cylinders and it produces 189bhp. An all new John Cooper works convertible has been in the market since April and the power formula of the Cooper S is great where it produces 228bhp and takes just over 6 seconds to get 62 miles per hour. The Cooper convertible gets the same speed in 8.8 seconds and its top speed is 130 miles per hour. The Cooper S is one of the top performers on the MINI model line-up and it takes just over 7 seconds to pass the 62 miles per hour mark. It has a top speed of 143 miles per hour where it’s four cylinder engine is exclusively refined and fuel economical. It pulls very hardly on the motorway and even in the city traffic where there you have a very little time to pull in the gaps. It is very hard to consider the Cooper D as a frugal model in the convertible line up of MINI models. As there is a 3 cylinder petrol engine is considerably economical and cleaner than other offerings. There are three models on offer as standard where Cooper, Cooper S and Cooper D models in the UK and all powered by six speed manual and optional six speed automatic gearbox.
