Fifth generation of Mitsubishi L200 pickup sets new standards in UK pick-up class, with its Barbarian and beastly look
L200 has been a leading brand of its class from Mitsubishi Motors since 1978. It is available in different shapes like cabin, double cabin and club cab. In 2012, L200 was the thirteenth time winner of the title “all-wheel-pickup of the year” award. The new L200 need to be good as ever to compete its rivals, like Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, Volkswagen Amarok and above all the world renowned and popular Toyota Hilux, not only in the field of look and impression but also in performance.Mitsubishi L200 Engines
There are two versions available in 2.5 litre turbocharged MIVEC diesel engines with 134bhp, L200 feels perfect in and out of town and 175 bhp version gives more boost and power to the wheels. Fuel consumption is economical if compare with its rivals of this class. The average of 42.8m/g is praise worthy in this sense. Isuzu D-Max is considered as a marquee pickup but is behind in fuel consumption with average of 39.0m/g. By the standards of other pickups available in the UK market, L200 performs well because of its turbocharged diesel engines which give an edge in sprint along with economically fuel consumption and carries this wild pickup from 0-62m/h in just 10.4 seconds. Power produced by the engines develops the feeling of smooth and rhythmic drive on motorway. With six-speed manual gearbox there is no need to shift gears frequently because high torque is produced at start and the engines do their best at 15000rpm to drag the pickup smoothly with a good momentum and speed. A five-speed automatic gearbox is also in the market, being a loader pickup manual gearbox is highly recommended instead of automatic one. Though commercial vehicles are recently taxed at a flat rate on the exhaustion of C02 but L200 has proved its ability and engineering by having eco-friendly.The Most Used L200 Engine in the UK
Above discussed Mitsubishi L200 is the version that mostly used in UK. In different parts of the world it has been produced by the company with different engine capacities and with different names since its birth.
