In Honda hatchback 1.4 litre petrol takes 13.4 seconds to get from 0-62m/h with maximum speed of 116m/h is a cheap choice to run but for speed 1.8litre petrol is good with 0-62m/h in 9.1seconds. This is the only petrol version which is available in five-speed automatic transmission but without fuel efficient stop-start unit. There is a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol unit for Honda Civic Type R. This petrol engine produces 300bhp of power and good amount of torque. It takes 5.7 seconds to get from 0-62m/h. It is the fastest version of petrol engine lineup.

With maximum power of 120bhp a 1.5 litre petrol unit is equipped with an electric motor in Honda hybrid. Unlike Toyota Prius, the Honda Civic hybrid is seldom powered directly by the electric cells.
