According to the new research in the UK, 53% of the new car buyers are planning to buy hybrid cars in the future.

According to the new research carried out in the UK indicates that 53% of new car buyers are thinking of buying a hybrid car instead of traditional diesel and petrol engine cars, the recent diesel, gate scam is one of the major causes of the changing behaviour of car buyers in the UK, the automotive critics say. The research has been conducted by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), which shows that there are only 3% hybrid cars have been registered in 2015 whereas 53% of drivers are thinking of shifting to hybrid cars or planning to buy new cars on hybrid technologies. The UK Government has introduced “incentive schemes” to promote hybrid cars for the best interest of the environment and public health. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and new electric cars are available at the price of £ 5,000 for new buyers under the government incentive scheme. The auto-industry analysts highlighted that this shift will create repair and maintenance delays as there are only 2% qualified trained technicians to work on hybrid vehicles, there are 170,000 qualified trained auto technicians in total. The critics say, the increasing number of hybrid vehicles requires more technicians in future otherwise it will create major repair delays. The IMI highlights, at the moment in the UK, there are 1000 technicians who have got training of level 3 for hybrid and electric car maintenance and other 1000 are registered to get training of the three year course of hybrid technologies to get the licence of hybrid technicians. The IMI top officials say, the government need to step in as the demand for hybrid cars is astonishing being found during our survey, we need to be prepared and enough trained workers ahead of time. The government need to introduce the scheme of “licence to practice” to meet the increasing repair and maintenance needs of hybrid car owners in the future.
