Top Discontinued Models That We Wish To Have In Our Garage Once

We generally made lists for top ten new arrivals, sometimes on the bases of power and fuel economy or may be on the bases of practicality but is very un-usual that we going out of our way and compiling the list of discontinued models. These are the models which were much admired in the past and everyone was wishing to have one of these models in their garage. We have managed to compile a list of only five models which are being discontinued in some parts of the world or may be across the globe. Every model has its own story to tell but we bet that you will be amazed and shocked after knowing about our list of discontinued models.

Audi TT RS

Let’s have some sneered at Audi.  In the past years you might have learned about the car that folks remember as the gay car, yes! The Gay Car or in the UK some people remember it as a chick car and this chauvinism keep on, which is acceptable. It was no else but the Audi TT, with a powerful Audi TT RS engine, loves to blast from standstill to 62 miles per hour in just under 4 seconds. The Audi TT RS was powered by a 360 bhp Audi engine and all-wheel drive technology to pull a full g on the skid pad and beat the rivals in the market. What were the reasons behind to kill this everlasting model line up? These were some bad decisions by Audi heads and corporate kings at Volkswagen and Porsche. It is clear that the corporation didn’t want to sell the recently introduced Audi TT models with seven speed dual clutch transmission because it can easily beat its own fellows like the Caymans. Otherwise there is no reason that a five cylinder can beat the Cayman because it’s a real oddity. It is not an aural pleasure or even fun to drive at full throttle. This is not like the Audi A8 but it is very close to a sports car, it is capable and makes sense of being a true driver’s car with ability to drive in all the four seasons and love to drive on the snow even if it is thicker than six inches.

BMW 1-Series

BMW is going to axe the 1 series and you will miss the fantastic 135i models with powerful straight six BMW 1 series engines capable of generating 320 bhp and a torque of 317 lb-ft. the 1 series engines were mated to an all exclusive, perfectly designed six speed transmissions. That all muscle is paired to the truest version of BMW’s best ever chassis ever. These chassis were more driver focused than manufactured by any other car manufacturers in the world. It was the chassis that help the 1 series to remain short on the line up with six inches less in length than the current 3 series. With the help of rubber cushions underneath, it handles better in the corners and on the road. With the 1 series going to the end of its life, any fan can make a strong statement or argument for its replacement by the automaker. Or simply by opting the new 2 series, the fan base can appreciate the decision of the auto maker. If you are a saloon lover, you can opt for an Audi A3 as a compact car of the year. But if it is hard to find a replacement and a dealer is making an offer to get a 1 series, you might opt for two instead, because it will be very hard to find a six cylinder engine even in the larger cars. So, if you can manage one to buy, then buy one and enjoy.

Volkswagen Golf R

Volkswagen has the longest model line up in the market and its Golf has no exceptions so far. The next generation Golf R will see the dawn on several cities across the globe because the German automaker is about to axe the model line up. The new version might be more powerful than the outgoing MK VI Golf R but it will be more muscular with a 296bhp Volkswagen Golf engine. But the car is about to disappear from the dealerships and the replacement model will offer even better fuel economy and other stats. The future of the Golf R is not that bright because the new model will be built on the new MQB platform. The next generation Golf R will appear in the UK showrooms may be the automaker hasn’t given any clue to them. It has not been promised in the USA so, it is not a good idea to sell your current car for a new Golf R. the current Golf R is one of the hottest and beautiful and the best seller in the UK. The Golf R was a blend technologies and it was powered by different transmissions. An all-wheel drive and a creamy new six speed transmission to make the Golf a car for everyone. However, the type of the Golf exclusively reminds that the Golf R was the most expensive model on the Golf line up but it was less powerful and slower on the track when compare to the models like Subaru WRX STI hatchback, and Mitsubishi EVO. It is a big misconception that the R is purely built for performance. Like in the case of BMW M3, they mention the R for performance with several modifications to complete the realm but it was being used on the roads. Yes, we are missing the previous Golf R and love to see it again in the market if VW thinks about the next Golf R. particularly with some muscular refinements like a dual clutch transmission and DSG or manual gearbox. You might knew that the Golf was one introduced with launch control system and these transmissions were used in some models of Audi and other VWs apart from the Golf. But the Golf R MK VII is just a hope in most parts of the world.
Mazda CX-7
The most modern Mazda CX -7 was first introduced at New York Motor Show in 2009 with some major refinements but then in 2010 the CX-7 came with massive changes in the interior and exterior along with some hefty and noticeable improvements. Normally, the CX-7 was using Mazda CX-7 2.5 litre engine, capable of generating 161bhp and a similar amount of torque which is also 161 lb-ft at 3500rpm. The new option was a 2.3 litre turbocharged unit which was being used in the high end models and now it was making its appearance in Mazda CX-7. The CX-7 once was the most admired vehicle in the segment and the trend of being admired is carried forth with the final facelift. The torsional rigidity was increased by around 5 percent with this facelift and this major midlife refinement offered better riding position and comfort. It also helped in decreasing the road noise coming through the body panels. The engine line up was further refined with the aid of 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engines. These engines were known as the swiftest engines on Mazda engine line up. From 2008 to 2012, these engines were being used in the non-premium SUV models and were famous for their lower block aluminium body type. The engine noise was noticeably lower than the competitors and it was equipped with a rear wheel torque control system. After all these refinements, how you can imagine that the automaker can kill the model as was one of the most admired models in the market? The answer is very simple, to boost up other models and compete the rivals. The high performance petrol versions of the CX-7 were offered with DISI petrol engines with NVH or Noise Vibration and Harshness control technology for the first time. Engine noise insulators and dash insulators were even thicker and denser to reduce the noise in the cabin. This model will be missed a lot in the market but we can’t guarantee that it will again make its appearance on the showrooms.
Lexus HS 250h
Toyota Prius has killed this beautiful hybrid saloon in the international markets. In 2009, North American International Auto Show, the Lexus HS 250h was introduced as a next generation hybrid car signed by Lexus. It was equipped with the time’s most modern engine technologies and powertrains. A 2.4 litre petrol engine capable of generating around 190bhp was leading the Lexus HS250h. the model was uniquely designed to power 17 inch alloys and 18 inch optional wheels. It was first four cylinder petrol engine ever used by Lexus. The 2.4 litre Atkinson Cycle engine was the part of Hybrid drivetrain. Total system power with the aid of hybrid unit raise to 190 and the highly efficient engine made it possible with VVT-I technology that allows the expansion to be even muscular with lengthy compression strokes. The HS 250h saloons were expected to deliver around 30 percent extra fuel efficiency in the Lexus engine line up. However this powertrain has earned the SULEV emission rating in the market. Among the technologies adopted in the 2.4 litre engines and cooling piston oil jets. Like the 2010 Lexus RX 450h HUVs, made its debut in November, the Lexus HS 250h was intended to increase the efficiency. All these models will be missed in the market. All of these models were enjoying the peak of refinements and efficiency but why they were axed by the automakers is still a mystery.
