Vauxhall Astra – An Insight

Introduction                                    

In the small family hatchback class line, Vauxhall Astra is at the front, competing and defeating VW Golf, SEAT Leon and FORD Focus. In spite of its popularity you could never call it a class leading car something that Vauxhall has tried to remedy with the last version. Its users have their opinion about Vauxhall Astra as ‘’the Vauxhall Astra is the best yet. It combines efficient engine, an enjoyable driving experience and a stylish design to make it one of the best family hatchbacks on sale’’. Vauxhall Astra has been a big selling family hatchback, although it hasn’t been able to keep up with the competition in terms of performance and outright desirability. However, the seventh generation model ensures that it can hold its own in the family hatchback class.

Engine

As far as Vauxhall’s Astra 1.4 litre turbo engine with 99bhp is its beginning but this unit is slightly old fashioned and slow, taking a long time span of 12.6 seconds to accelerate from 0-62 miles/hour. Fuel efficiency is reasonable but not outstanding; the emission of CO2 @ 124g/km will be a costly one after a year. Vauxhall’s Astra 1.0 litre turbo engine with the capacity of 104 bhp is a good recommendation to use because of its performance, low cost and reduced emission of CO2. There is a unique class of engine if you need more power and speed than before in your Vauxhall Astra. 1.4-litre turbo engine with maximum 148 bhp. There’s also a 197 bhp 1.6-litre turbo engine that produces power and speed at the same time.

Interior and space

Astra has plenty of room for its users along with a good, balanced and decent boot having good and spacious look for the luggage and goods of passengers. New Astra‘s boot is nearly square shaped, not only having good and spacious look boot but also having a good and enough space for six feet tall driver  and six feet tall passenger to b accommodated at the rear seat without bending his knees and head.

One and only the Astra has been used in auto racing around the globe because of its variety in petrol and diesel engines which take Astra far beyond from any other hatchback.

Technology

Astra is also fitted with a 4G LTE system, allowing you to connect up to seven devices in the car at the same time. Such systems are not new but notable thing is the availability of all these features in this class of car and relatively at very low price.
