Volkswagen GTI Loses Its Two-Door Hatch For 2018
September 20, 2016
VW’s all time sporty hatchback will gain weight and will only have five door versions from 2018
Finally, Volkswagen has decided to discontinue its two door version of the sporty VW Golf GTI and there will be only four door version available. This has been announced at the time when Subaru Alltrack is giving tough time to the Golf Alltrack model and the officials at Volkswagen says that the removal of the two door will make a difference because it uses the same Volkswagen Golf engine and all other features, that’s why, two door version doesn’t make any sense in the line-up.What experts believe about the two door versions by Volkswagen?
Majority of engines of Volkswagen and automotive experts believe that it is very awkward thing that Volkswagen is still manufacturing the models like two door GTI because it doesn’t make sense to give two doors to a hatchback like Golf GTI as it is not tiny Polo which also has four door body. Dealers of the German automaker believe that Europe and even the UK is not the common place for the two door versions. People do not want to ride a two door hatch and especially when it is a Golf GTI. They believe that ordering a GTI hatch with two doors is just like ordering nothing but when it is a four door, it changes the entire story. The two door version is less practical and less useful in the UK and it is rarely seen in the UK dealerships. It is very obvious that four door version is more famous among the Golf fans in the UK and the Europe. Volkswagen believes that this removal will save them time and money and their focus will be entirely on the single version. They also believe that unlike the Golf R there is less chance of removing the manual transmission from the Golf GTI.Will it hurt the fan base of Golf GTI?
It is not an act that will surprise any of the fans of Golf GTI because of the unpopularity of the two door version. With the removal of the two door body there will be more convenient body of the new Golf GTI in 2018 and it will save you money too, a $600 will be removed off the price tag with some value added cool styling. We have nothing to sacrifice with the removal of two door version but a bit of convenience of rear seats. What about the buyers of New Golf GTI?
The buyers of new Golf GTI will enjoy high quality and high value technological gadgets on the new 2018 Golf GTI. These gadgets will be combined with the upgraded interior and top quality materials. All these features will ultimately enhance the driving experience, but it will still be depending on your priorities as you might wish for something different and or other alternatives in the same price tag. However, it is still very tough to beat the driving experience of the new GTI models. There is only one rival that has set a standard in the market for better handling and performance that is Ford Focus ST. It leads the game but with few milliseconds. It’s a cheap option too but it still can’t beat the overall standing and authority of a Volkswagen Golf GTI.Categories
